THE VISION

The vision was to create an Alliance of professionals dedicated to helping seniors with the services and resources they need to navigate their way through the adventures and challenges of aging.   

OUR MISSION

Greater McHenry County Area Senior Resource Alliance is an organization of senior focused professionals serving McHenry, Lake and Kane counties, who have united to provide seniors and their families with the most trustworthy, ethical, and affordable information and services.  The strength of our Alliance is the elite team of pre-screened professionals focused on providing solutions for seniors while aging in place, transitioning into new living arrangements, and/or ensuring their finances and legal affairs are in order.

WHAT WE DO

We work with seniors, their families, or whomever they rely on to help them achieve their desires.  Whether we are addressing financial considerations, aging in place issues, or other concerns, we strive to assist wherever we're able, or to direct you to an appropriate resource. 

Our resources extend beyond our Alliance.  You may need the services of a government entity, social services, volunteer organization, or another organization.  Many of our members are active in various organizations, or have affiliations with agencies dedicated to seniors.  We are currently working to compile a database of those entities in our area.

WHO WE SERVE

SENIORS - We work with seniors to help them achieve their objectives.  What does the client need or want ?  Are there any other needs?  How can we help YOU?  Perhaps you need the services of two or more of our members to help you find the peace of mind you seek.  Is there anything worrying you?

FAMILIES - Have you inherited responsibility for helping a family member - parent, grandparent, or other relative?  Are you overwhelmed, physically, mentally, or emotionally exhausted?  Is your own family suffering or your work suffering?  How can we help YOU?

EMPLOYERS - Do you have employees who are being called away to take care of family? How is this impacting the company and productivity? How can we help your employees and ultimately your company?

EDUCATION 

As we age, we change.  We may not be able to do all that we did last year.  We offer panel presentations by our members on a variety of topics that are designed to help understand what is happening, or what you might expect in the future.  Our main presentation addresses Boomers and their parents, and we have other specialty presentations that focus on a particular aspect of interest.  Following is a sampling of programs that GMCA-SRA can present.

• Boomers, Their Parents, and Incredible Longevity - A look at the aging process, and stories about what we can do to enhance our health and vitality as we age, the impact of nutrition and exercise, and an overview of aging in America.
• Aging In Place -  A Certified Aging in Place Architect to discuss design changes for a home, medical and non-medical home care, Reverse Mortgage, minor home repair, etc.
• Transitions - Is it time to move to a smaller home, condo, assisted living, or in with one of the children?  During this traumatic time, enlist the aid of specialist who understand what the senior is going through, as well as the family members.  This panel may be composed of our Realtor, Senior Move Manager, Geriatric Nurse, Estate Liquidator, or others.
  

The members of GMCA-SRA have been selected with the following criteria in mind.

• Working harmoniously with the other professionals to derive the best program to meet the senior's and their families' needs.
